What is The Arc?
The Arc is the largest national community-based organization advocating for--and serving people with--intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. We encompass all ages and all spectrums from autism, Down syndrome, Fragile X and various other developmental disabilities. The Arc supports their full inclusion and participation in the community throughout their lifetimes.
The Arc is people—people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, parents, and other family members, professionals, and friends of people with disabilities. The Arc is a grassroots organization with 140,000 members who are affiliated through approximately 700 state and local chapters across the nation.
What is The Arc of Cowlitz County?
The Arc of Cowlitz County is a chapter of The Arc of Washington State (link) and The Arc of the United States (link). It serves to carry out the work of The Arc in Cowlitz County, working to gain all citizens equal rights, respect, and the opportunity to live valued lives.
The Arc of Cowlitz County strives to ensure that people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in Cowlitz County have the services and supports they need to grow, develop and live in their own community.
