Life Works Executive Director

Marti Johnson

Marti Johnson has been the Executive Director of Life Works since 1980, and was named the 2002 Community Business Person of the Year by the Kelso/Longview Chamber of Commerce, given a Red Cross Hero Award in 2004, received a lifetime achievement award in 2005 from the Arc of Washington State, and was honored for her achievements by the American Association of University Women in 2005. She has over 30 years of experience in the case management field. Marti has a degree from the University of Washington, and a Certificate of Human Service Management from the University of Washington School of Social Work. 
 
Marti is a leader in creating positive community based supports and case management to people with developmental disabilities in southwest Washington. As the Executive Director, Marti acts as a liaison between the Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), the Department of Child and Family Services (DCFS), and any other agencies that Residential Resources contracts with to provide services for Cowlitz County. 
 
Marti has extensive experience in managing and accounting for public funds. Over her tenure as the Executive Director of Life Works, Marti has developed and administered an annual budget that is now over $5,000,000. She directs a team of over 200 employees working with more than 100 individuals and families in an agency that continually receives excellent evaluations from the Washington State Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), Department of Health (DOH), and Department of Children's and Family Services (DCFS) divisions. She has maintained all agency licensing according to Washington State RCWs and WACs, and complied with accounting and reporting policies as designated by the State and the agency’s Board of Directors.
 
A longtime resident of Longview, Washington, Marti is a member of the Kelso/Longview Chamber of Commerce, and the Community Residential Services Association (CRSA) for the State of Washington.
